Lighting a room
The presenter visits Manchester Airport with an architect to see how sunlight is transmitted to chandeliers in the terminal building. A heliostat, a moving mirror which follows the Sun's path in the sky, reflects light to other mirrors. These mirrors bounce the sunlight down onto the chandeliers which illuminate the terminal's interior.
