Using loops and samples
Dev from Radio 1 challenges 15-year-old electro producer Happa to make a piece of music using pre-existing samples. Happa talks through his process as he builds up the track. Starting with a beat, he creates a set of loops out of different sampled instruments, whilst modifying their pitch and speed and adding different effects to change their overall timbre. He shows how, through experimenting with sounds and techniques, you can develop a distinctive sound of your own that can be heard clearly in the tracks you make.
