The Egyptian Museum in Cairo is the biggest and oldest in Egypt.

The museum contains more than 120,000 artefacts, some of which date back to the time of the first Pharaohs.

Situated in Tahrir Square the museum suffered looting and was at risk from further damage during the revolution in 2011.

Two years on, Shaimaa Khalil finds out how the museum has been coping as the unrest in the country continues and visitor numbers fall.
