Winning D-Day - Sword Beach landings
British veterans give their account of the D-Day landings on Sword Beach in June 1944. With the freedom of the Western world at stake, the British began their attack on Nazi occupied France. The careful planning ensured that the fighting was fierce yet short. This allowed the British to capture their targets and approach the key city of Caen, 7 miles inland. The attack marked the beginning of the end for the Nazis.
