Abdul Karim talks about the life of Queen Victoria
Abdul Karim was presented to Queen Victoria on her Golden jubilee. He became her friend and teacher. He tells us about the 19-year-old who became queen and her 63-year-long reign. We learn about the three most significant men in her long life – her husband Albert, her Scottish gillie John Brown and Abdul Karim himself, her Indian teacher and secretary. Archive film footage shows the Queen at Balmoral, whilst Karim describes their favourite activities of attending the Highland games and hunting, shooting and fishing.
