How classical music can be given an urban feel
We meet a group of secondary school pupils who encounter a live classical string quartet for the first time. The interactive workshop aims to change their views about classical music and make the style more accessible to young people. The pupils listen to a performance by the string quartet and then interact with the musicians by conducting and directing the players. In order to encourage the pupils, Fazer has also sent in some of his Urban Symphony performers who make music alongside the classical quartet. The classical music is now teamed with beatboxing, rapping and singing which creates a new urban vibe.
