"He needs to come back and shake things up" Sam Bailey wants Simon Cowell to return to The X Factor

You might think that working as a prison officer has no relation whatsoever to being a popstar, but X Factor finalist Sam Bailey doesn't agree.

She says the job has made her more assertive and has given her a thicker skin, qualities she might find useful in the music industry if she wins the X Factor this weekend.

The bookies have Sam as the favourite to win and her voice has moved the judges to tears.

The X Factor final is on ITV on Saturday 14th December at 8pm and the winner will be announced on Sunday 15th December at 7.30pm
