A 100 years ago this weekend, a journalist from Liverpool came up with the crossword.
It's gone on to become one of the worlds most enduring brain-teasers.
John Halpern is a crossword setter for a number of national newspapers, and has written a book about this anniversary.
He spoke with Charlie and Naga.
