Recruiting soldiers in WW1
Different pressures were applied to persuade young men to join up. Whilst some women were reluctant to allow their men to volunteer, others levelled accusations of cowardice at men in the street. This proved to be a particularly useful tactic in the case of one 17 year old boy.
