Changes on the home front during WW1
Relatives left behind describe what it was like trying to cope whilst the men were away at war. They tell of the difficulties coping without much money and worrying whether their husbands, brothers and fathers were still alive. For their part, the soldiers’ joy of returning home on leave was mixed with the difficulty in talking about their experiences at the Front.
