Shopping at a flea market in Berlin
Charlie is learning German at school. He is keen to improve and practise his German and links up regularly with friends in Berlin for regular chats. Today he links up online with Lena in Berlin who is choosing clothes for a party. She can’t decide what to wear and asks Charlie for advice. Lena feels she has nothing to wear. None of her clothes are right – they are either too long or too short or too green! Lena wants to have some new clothes for the party. She goes to a local flea market and sees just the thing. A very colourful and original wig. Both Charlie and Lena agree that the wig will be great for the party. It costs 5 euros, which is more than Lena has to spend. With Charlie’s help, she bargains with the stallholder and beats the price down. Charlie is able to use his knowledge of numbers to help Lena with the transaction.
