Inside the Pope’s private gardens
Castel Gandolfo has served as the Pope’s summer retreat since the 17th Century and for the first time this year the gardens surrounding the residence have opened to the public.
Visits to the gardens are with a tour guide but are not currently accessible to people with mobility difficulties, although there are plans to change this.
