Christine and Adam: The Isolation of Depression
A mother and son reflect on the loneliness and pain of dealing with depression when living apart. Living on his own in London Adam struggled to cope with relationship pressures, drugs and sleeping rough. Mum didn't know what was really going on, and she only became worried after seeing the state Adam was in when he came home to Carlisle. But Adam felt he couldn't talk to his mum when he needed her most, because he didn't want to worry her and was afraid she would judge him. It was only after he tried to take his own life that his cry for help was heard. . .
