Pupils have their first day at Leicester's first free Sikh School
After years of planning and a false start in September, pupils will have their first day at Leicester's first free Sikh School this morning. Around 70 children had been due to start at Falcons Primary, earlier this month. But just days before the beginning of term, the Department for Education intervened, raising questions over the management of the school. Families were left desperately scrambling to find places for their children at other schools. And ever since then parents, councillors, school staff and MP's have all been doing their utmost to get the school to open. Well that day has finally come! 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Leicester's Julie Mayer is at the site of the old Towers Hospital in Northfields in Leicester with pupils and staff ahead of the school bell ringing for the first time
