The 'broken, grotesque, patronising and offensive cliches' of Band Aid

The latest remake of Band Aid鈥檚 Do They Know It鈥檚 Christmas is a broken record, and a grotesque recycling of patronising and offensive cliches, says Ekon Eshow.

In his personal film about UK attitudes towards Africa, the writer and broadcaster said Britain had "never dealt openly and honestly with the legacy of colonialism".

And he said it was time for a new song about Africa.

The studio debate with Andrew Neil, Michael Portillo and Alan Johnson that followed this clip can be seen by UK viewers on iPlayer (for 12 months).
