Jenkins: No charging means no NHS in a few years’ time
Simon Jenkins says politicians have to show courage and start charging for NHS services.
He said there were charges for prescriptions and there should be fees for visiting a doctor or a casualty unit.
In a personal film for This Week, the journalist said: "The system is overcrowded, it’s not working, and it’s clearly broken down. And politicians don’t know what to do."
And he claimed that not bringing in charges would mean no NHS in a few years’ time.
UK viewers can watch the studio debate the followed this film on the full version of the programme on iPlayer (for 12 months).
