Labour MPs Johnson and Abbott on mansion tax proposals
The mansion tax is going to form a key part of Labour's election manifesto and the says it will raise 拢1.2bn with the proceeds used to fund the recruitment of 38,000 GPs, nurses, midwives and other NHS professionals.
But former Labour cabinet minister, Peter (now Lord) Mandelson, criticised the plans describing them as "crude" and "short termist".
