A series exploring the dark side of the East Midlands' past. Criminal Histories is the result of a two-year research project to uncover the truth behind stories of crime and punishment in the region. With access to rare documents such as the contemporary account of the Belvoir witchcraft case, and to such historic locations as the Tower of London and Hardwick Hall. The series also boasts an exceptional line-up of historians such as Dr. Helen Castor, Dr. Suzannah Lipscomb and Dr. Kate Williams, and with meticulously staged reconstructions filmed, where possible, in the actual locations in which the events unfolded years past.
