Why Michael Vaughan withdrew from ECB role
Michael Vaughan has outlined the reasons why he withdrew himself from the running to be ECB director of cricket.
The former England captain admitted that the potential for difficult relationships was behind his withdrawal.
He said: "I really think that I'd be in conflict with the personnel involved at that time. Peter Moores was the coach, Alistair Cook is the captain and I've been very critical of both and if I'd have come in as the boss there would have only been one option.
"And I think the Kevin Pietersen situation would have been difficult, clearly it's an issue with the team. I'd like to have had the opportunity to pick Kevin Pietersen."
