Employment minister on jobs, cuts and deficit
Unemployment in the UK has fallen to its lowest level for seven years - down 35,000 to 1.83 million.
New Employment Minister Priti Patel welcomed the news, telling Victoria that wages were rising and that the UK had 鈥渃reated more jobs for young people than all of Europe put together.鈥
But she would not be drawn on where the planned 拢12bn in welfare cuts would come from 鈥 or the exact figure of the deficit.
