Why do councils own golf courses, restaurants, pubs and hotels?
The TaxPayers' Alliance has looked at some of the assets owned by local councils, including golf courses, restaurants, pubs and hotels.
The TPA's Jonathan Isaby and Councillor David Simmonds from the Local Government Association spoke about the research, and debated whether authorities should be holding on to such money-making schemes.
