Geoffrey Boycott: '1977 Ashes saw the best innings I ever played'

Cricket legend Geoffrey Boycott has revealed some of his favourite Ashes moments against Australia to fellow England hero Andrew Flintoff.

Boycott told Flintoff about the mental toughness he demonstrated during the 1977 Ashes series: when he returned to the Test fold after a three years absence aged 36.

Boycott produced a sparking century and admitted he had to dig deep to do so.

"That was about strength of character and mental toughness, that is why I think it is the best innings I ever played,鈥 he said.
