Best known for his role as Belgian detective Hercules Poirot, actor David Suchet has returned to the stage 鈥� this time dressed in drag 鈥� as Oscar Wilde鈥檚 Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest.

He told the 麻豆官网首页入口鈥檚 Andrew Marr how, although he had seen the play many times, he took a fresh look at the script that came through his letterbox. 鈥淚 read it as though I was reading it for the first time,鈥� he said.

鈥淟ady Bracknell is nouveau riche鈥� and I鈥檇 never seen that before.鈥�

The Importance of Being Earnest is on at the Vaudeville Theatre, London until 7 November 2015.
