'If someone campaigned against the Labour Party, then they don't get a vote'

Labour MP Jon Ashworth has told this programme that the process to select a new party leader was robust, but not perfect. He was talking about whether people who have voted for other parties or campaigned against Labour should be able to vote. The Leicester South MP said Tory-supporting union members had been able to vote for leaders in past contests. Mr Ashworth told Joanna Gosling there was clearly dissatisfaction over the process and it would be "sensible for the National Executive to at least review this after the election."
