Welfare and tax credits: Smith v Gauke
Owen Smith, the new shadow work and pensions secretary, and Treasury minister David Gauke debate government plans for changes to welfare and tax credits, ahead of a Tuesday afternoon vote in the House of Commons.
They spoke to Jo Coburn about changes that will bring in the National Living Wage, new thresholds for tax credits and restrictions for Universal Credit, which follow an announcement from George Osborne about finding 拢12billion in savings from the welfare budget.
