Labour MP Mike Gapes has called for Ken Livingstone to resign as leader of the party鈥檚 Trident review.

Mike Gapes said the ex-London mayor should 鈥済racefully withdraw鈥� for his comments about shadow defence minister Kevan Jones

Mr Livingstone has "unreservedly" apologised for saying the MP - who has suffered with depression - needed "psychiatric help".

Asked by Jo Coburn whether Mr Livingstone should be fired if he does not stand down, Mr Gapes said that was a matter for whoever appointed him.
