Thousands of people were flooded out of their homes or left without power after Storm Desmond wreaked havoc in parts of the UK.

Nadine Dorries, the Conservative MP, told Jo Coburn she did not know if the floods were a result of climate change and that we may have to accept flooding is part of life in the 21st century.

But she said lessons had to be learned.
