The whistle-blowers whose testimony helped lead to Russia being banned from global Track and Field are to become ambassadors for a Fair Play initiative being set up by the Zurich Diamond League athletics meeting.

Andreas Hediger is the Co-Meeting Director of the Weltklasse, Zurich's Diamond League meeting. He tells Sport Today why Yulia Stepanova and her husband Vitaliy Stepanov deserve support and recognition for the personal sacrifices they have made, and he hopes others will come forward as a result of the stand they have taken.

Stepanova, a former athlete, and Stepanov, a former employee of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency, shared information first with German broadcaster ARD and then with the World Anti-Doping Agency's inspection team. They were singled out by Dick Pound, who led that WADA investigation, for their contribution.
