Ocean Drifters
The largest floating seed is the coconut and they can float in the sea for up to four months.
David Attenborough finds a live coconut with a green stem sprouting from the top and a white rootlet coming out below. Normally coconuts sprout on the head of the beach so the palm will grow at an angle, so their nuts will drop within reach of the high tide and be swept to other islands.
