Sleeping in bins with paper 'as a mattress'
Richard, who has been homeless for almost four years, says that, at times, "I wanted to kill myself".
He sometimes sleeps in bins for warmth: "If they have excess paper or cardboard... I use that as a mattress."
Joanna Gosling spoke to Richard, Andrew Faris, a former homeless person who now runs a soup kitchen for the homeless and Dr Toni Gladding, from The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management.
