Ethnic Divisions Widen in Macedonia

Clashes between Serbian forces and armed Albanians are increasing at an alarming rate

Macedonia is on the verge of a bitter struggle as ethnic divisions in the area come to the fore. Since the break up of Yugoslavia, clashes between Serbian forces and armed groups said to be from Albania have been breaking out at an alarming rate. We visit the largest Albanian-inhabited town in Macedonia, Tetovo, to talk to the young people living there about the effect the fighting is having on them.

Also on the show, we meet Coral Prior who positively loves going to work – at the morgue; and get ready for the world-famous music competition, the Eurovision Song Contest, which thanks to a win by Britain’s Katrina and the Waves, will take place in Birmingham this Saturday.
