Composer Howard Goodall looks into the development of harmony using dissonance and the early days of opera. Monteverdi鈥檚 madrigals and the opera 'L鈥橭rfeo' are used to demonstrate unrelated chords and dissonance. Opera is introduced as a longer extended musical form and to demonstrate how music is used to stir emotion.
