Hayden Parry is the CEO of Oxitec in Oxford. They are the only genetically modified insect company in the world. He explains to Adam Hart how they produce Aedes aegypti mosquito males that when they breed with wild females do not produce babies that survive into adulthood. This effectively reduces the disease carrying mosquito population. It鈥檚 part of a drive to eradicate the carriers of diseases like Zika, Dengue, yellow fever and Chikungunya.
