The Muslim Council of Britain has urged the Conservative Party to look at perceived Islamophobia within its ranks. A spokesman said the party needed to look at the issue in the same way in which Labour was looking into allegations of anti semitism. It all stems from accusations levelled at an Imam called Sulaiman Ghani - he had been accused by David Cameron of being a supporter of the Islamic State group. In a statement, Downing Street said Mr Cameron was referring to reports that Mr Gani supports "an" Islamic state and apologised for any misunderstanding.
