Reading owners 'could have done things differently'

Reading's Chief Executive Nigel Howe does not hold back when discussing both John Madejski's comments about Brian McDermott yesterday, as well as his thoughts on the owners, and how they have performed since taking over the club.

"I thought that [Sir John Madejski's comments about Brian McDermott's sacking] was a remarkable statement by even Sir John's standards."

"I think because he wasn't part of the selection process or part of the active running of the club, he felt he would want to vent himself, and he was given a platform to do so."

"The owners are going through a bit of a learning curve. Perhaps we've had one or two decisions already that we would have made differently.

"But the train is still on the tracks and going forward. Now we have a new manager hopefully we can get some momentum up."
