Food Friday - The Chicago Dog
Recipe:
- 1 all beef hotdog
- 1 seeded bun (or a brioche bun if you can鈥檛 find the seeded ones)
- Finely diced white onion
- Roughly diced beef tomato
- Dill pickle large and quartered
- Sports pickles (or pickled sweet chillies)
- Sweet pickle relish (or piccalilli if you can鈥檛 find the sweet pickles)
- American mustard
- Celery salt
Method:
- Cook the hotdog according to the instructions on the packet, and slice the bun 3/4 of the way through.
- When the dog is cooked add the pickle relish (or piccalilli) to the inside of the bun then chuck in the hotdog.
- Sprinkle the onions along one side of the dog and the tomatoes on the other.
- Add the Dill pickle quarters on top of the onion and the sports peppers on to the tomatoes.
- Finally squeeze the american mustard on top and sprinkle with the celery salt.
- Open your mouth as wide as you can and take a huge bite...
- Enjoy!
