Why does Business Matters only Have Asian and American Guests?
Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Business Matters’ editor explains why they only invite Asian and American guests. Plus, Mary from Uganda, dislikes how her country is portrayed on Newsday.
Business Matters is a daily programme that was launched three years ago to create a focus on a region The Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú World Service believed needed more eco-nomic and financial coverage: Asia. The live programme goes out at 0100 GMT + 1 - breakfast time in Asia. Programme makers unashamedly only invite guests on from Asia and America, but it’s left one listener feeling a little left out. This week on Over To You, Timothy from Zambia is on the line to ask Business Mat-ters’ Editor, Martin Webber if he’ll consider using African guests as well.
After hearing a comment made about life for women in Uganda by an American author, Mary from Uganda wants to know why Newsday didn’t challenge him.
