My bullying was 'broadcast all over Facebook'
There are eight times as many Google searches for the term ‘cyberbullying’ in October, compared to July and August, according to safety organisation Internet Matters.
Nikita, a cyberbullying victim from the age of 13, told psychologist Dr Linda Papadopoulos on 5 live Daily that her bullying was broadcast over social media. Dr Papadopoulos described the effects of cyberbullying as ‘ongoing’ and ‘out there for the whole world to see over an extended period of time’.
If you, your child or someone else you know has been affected by cyberbullying there are lots of places to go for further information, advice and guidance. Internet Matters recommend a range of places for support. Visit www.internetmatters.org for more.
