Torn during childbirth
Childbirth injury is a taboo subject but affects many women.
Up to 85% of women have some sort of tear during their first vaginal birth - though the most severe injuries only affect about 6% of women.
Often women don't share their experiences - they may find their symptoms embarrassing or think what they're going through is normal.
Doctors and midwives are now working together to see if they can reduce the number of these injuries.
This report by Jean Mackenzie contains some graphic details and pictures.
