Should unpaid internships be banned?

Unpaid internships can be seen as valuable work experience allowing young people a way into the world of work, or a form of exploitation reducing social mobility, allowing some to push ahead of less affluent rivals towards the best-paid careers.

Daily Politics presenter Jo Coburn, and guest Martin Lewis, heard from Conservative MP Alec Shelbrooke, who is presenting a Private Member's Bill calling for an end to unpaid internships, and Kate Andrews of the Institute for Economic Affairs who thinks that the government should allow them to continue.
