Disabled woman living without social care: I eat crisps for tea
A charity said almost half the disabled adults in Great Britain are not getting the help they need at home. Leonard Cheshire Disability estimate more than one million people could be affected.
Julie Sharp suffers from Triple X Syndrome which causes mobility and communication problems.
She said: 鈥淲hen I do not have a personal assistant, I struggle with standing from my chair and gaining my balance.鈥
鈥淚 cannot have a hot meal for my tea because I am not able to bend down from the oven,鈥 she said, 鈥淚 have to make do with a takeaway or just a snack, like a packet of crisps鈥.
The charity says the results of its survey are a 鈥榥ational scandal鈥.
