Thirteen-year-old Max was born with Treacher Collins Syndrome which has led to his facial disfigurement and deafness.

Max has implants which allow him to hear but he has to remove them at night. Not being able to hear where his parents were or if an alarm was going off kept him awake and left him feeling alone and fearful at night.

That was until Chloe came to join him. Chloe is a beautiful black Labrador who is trained as a hearing dog. She keeps Max company and aware of things all the time.

She’s also helped him socially. Where once Max was afraid to go out because people used to stare at him, Chloe is now the reason people stop and chat to him.

Max is now a much happier and confident boy, all thanks to Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, who are supported by Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Children in Need.
