Mansell: Hamilton's tactics caused 'great concern'
Former F1 World Champion Nigel Mansell says Lewis Hamilton could have tried to back the field up with "twenty or thirty laps to go" at the season ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Mansell believes the fact he left it late to slow down could have had his team worrying about the prospect of a crash or them losing the race win.
Talking to 5 live Breakfast's Rachel Burden, he says Hamilton "could have backed them up earlier in the race" after he failed in his attempt to win the F1 Drivers World Championship by delaying his teammate Nico Rosberg.
Hamilton has denied using "dirty tricks" after his team repeatedly told him to pick up the pace in Abu Dhabi. In the end it didn't matter as Rosberg held on to second place - enough to clinch the title.
However, Mansell believes Hamilton remains the "outstanding" driver in the sport and adds "If you beat Lewis - my goodness you've beaten the best on the grid."
