Former FA chairman Greg Dyke says he "ran into a complete brick wall" trying to change the "antiquated" governance of the FA.

"You've got an FA council of 120 members - 10 percent are over the age of 80, 80 percent are over the age of 60, only four come from ethnic minority backgrounds, only six of the 120 are women", he said. "It's an organisation based in the past".

Mr Dyke said he had proposed "radical change" during his time in charge, but said reform would not happen without legislation from the Culture, Media and Sport committee.

The FA says it is working on governance reforms to adhere to Sport England and UK Sport's Governance Code for Sport, which was released in October.
