Apprentice winner ditched school to ‘pursue the dream’
This weekend saw the final of The Apprentice, with Alana Spencer beating rival Courtney Wood to the top spot.
She has set up a luxury cake company which she runs from her parent’s house, with one employee so far – her boyfriend.
24-year-old Spencer who left school at 17 to start her business told 5 live “school wasn’t my strongest point - I left school to pursue the dream.”
“My mum worked incredibly hard to provide for us – seeing how hard she worked made me realise how hard I have to work,” she told us.
