Making memorials - and a career - from Welsh slate in the Tywi Valley
While preparing a memorial for a lost baby, Gabriel Hummerstone reflects on stonecutting. From Papua New Guinea, to Devon and now rural Wales - he now carves a living from stone at the top of the world - literally - in the Tywi Valley in Carmarthenshire. Using Welsh slate and the traditional method of mallet and chisel, he's spent the last 15 years developing his own unique style.
