Mellow Deep (Sandeep Ubhi), from Bromsgrove, has been making music for around 15 years.

Although you might think that this is something he does full time, he's actually a business development manager - and this is just one of a handful of shows he's actually played.

For this special performance at the Evesham Arts Centre, he's joined with three guest vocalists.

"A sick live show, bringing a range of festival-grade talent into a beautifully eclectic mix" - Andrew Marston.

Staying safe at gigs

Staying safe at gigs

Watching live music is one of life's greatest pleasures.

But whilst you're watching the band, who's watching you?

There have been growing reports of sexual assaults at live gigs.

So we sent Qasa Alom along to investigate with a Worcestershire band who are trying to combat the issue.

Nozstock announcement

Other acts including Seasick Steve and Mungo's Hi-Fi will take part in the Festival held in Bromyard from 21 -23 July.

The team, which also organises HopFest and the monthly Music In The Hall sessions, set the competition up three years ago as a way of discovering new local talent.

The winners were:

  • Young Musician of the Year: Mayfli
  • Best Instrumentalist: Danny Bold
  • Best Singer: Phoebe Jones
  • Best Group: Mayfli
  • Best Composition: Izzy O'Dowd

This month's sessions were recorded at the Evesham Arts Centre.

The venue, which has been hosting a variety of performances in their 300-seat auditorium since 1979, is run by volunteers.

During February, they're hosting a variety of folk acts and musicals.

Features

Park Hall, Wormelow

Park Hall, Wormelow

If you were a regular at the Park Hall Ballroom at Wormelow, or the Booth Hall in Hereford, sad news reaches us this week of the death of a musical great from that era.

Pianist and band leader Ambrose Emerson was a local musical star in his day; his piano playing talents were appreciated at the original Hereford Odeon cinema - when he was just 13!

He went on to play in the Russ Allen band at Wormelow听and he'd eventually go on to run the venue, for a decade, right up until 1982.
