The novel exploring West Africa's role in the slave trade
Ghanaian-American novelist Yaa Gyasi discusses her debut novel Homegoing. The book tells the story of two sisters in 18th Century Ghana, one is married off to a slave owner, the other is forced into slavery and sent to the United States. The book traces the stories of their descendants over seven generations.
