Could pub takeover be the final straw?

The Dutch brewer Heineken is making a bid to take over 1,900 pubs owned by UK pub chain Punch Taverns.

But some Punch tenants are not happy with the proposed deal, fearing it could force them to sell products their customers do not want.

In a personal film for the Daily Politics soapbox series, Malachy Keane, who runs The Star pub in Harrow, explains why he is not in favour of the deal.

He asked: "How can we compete when we are not allowed to serve the customers what they want?"
