Government to listen to Lords 'with respect'

David Lidington on the "challenging process" of handling legislation in both Houses.

The Leader of the House of Commons discusses the challenges of getting government business through with a working Commons majority of 16 and with no government majority in the Lords.

Speaking to the Westminster Hour's Carolyn Quinn, the cabinet minister also spoke of his experience of filling in for Theresa May at Prime Minister's Questions.

"It was the single most terrifying thing I've done in politics in 25 years," he said.

"The night after I'd done it, the adrenaline was pumping so hard, I barely slept at all".
